Camera Lust

I really want a digital SLR.

I've been wanting one for a long time and I've now gotten into the obsessive research stage which usually ends in buying whatever it is I'm obsessing over. I've got it narrowed down to either the Nikon D40, D50 or D60 or the Canon Rebel XS or XT. I can't decide! I'm looking for a deal on Craigslist and I narrowly missed a very very good deal because I wasn't sure that the D60 was what I wanted. I used to use a Nikon SLR for photography class and I loved that camera so I'm leaning more towards Nikon at the moment. I also like how the Nikon feels when I hold it compared to the Canon. I've read though that the low end Canons are better for action shots than the low end Nikons...but then I also know that it's more about the lens for capturing action than the camera body. Maybe I'll just let it come down to which one I can find for the best price on CL.

I work full time now instead of going to school so it's ok to buy myself things...right? right?? I'm not sure for how long or how many times after graduating I can use "graduation present" as an excuse.
